This pānui updates you and your whanau on progress to date with our Treaty of Waitangi Settlement Negotiations.
The momentum in Negotiations has increased and Negotiators, along with the Board, are working hard to agree redress for an Agreement in Principle with the Crown.
While we are not able to go into detail about negotiations due to our confidentiality agreement with the Crown, we can advise that progress towards an Agreement in Principle is going well and we will provide more detail around its content as soon as possible.
Upcoming Elections and AGM
Te Komiti Nui o Ngati Whakaue Trust deed requires us to hold elections this year. We are hoping to hold these elections and the AGM in October. We will advertise the dates for the AGM and elections once these have been confirmed.
Te Komiti Nui Staff
Te Komiti Nui has had a change of staff, with Tamara Mutu moving on from her role as Executive Manager to take on an exciting new position with Te Tumu Paeroa. Te Komiti Nui o Ngati Whakaue wishes Tamara all the best in her new role and would like to thank her for the valuable contribution she made during her time in the office.
Kerri Anne Hancock has agreed to take on the role as Executive Manager. Te Komiti Nui expects to have the new staff member appointed in the next two months.
Thank you to all whanau who have taken the time to register yourselves and your whanau. This is increasingly important for those of you who wish to vote in the up-coming elections. If you are not registered you can do this electronically by clicking on the following link https://whakaue.org/register/ or through visiting the office at The Business Hub, 1209 Hinemaru Street.
We have been meeting and keeping in contact with Wai claimants over the course of the year, however we are mindful that some whanau may wish to contact Negotiators directly. Please feel free to contact staff at Te Komiti Nui offices at email@example.com who will arrange for contact with the Negotiators.
